Delete your account

You can delete your Lifer account and all associated data directly from within the app. No need to email us. Deletion is self-serve and takes effect automatically after a 30-day grace period.

How to delete your account in the app

1. Open the Lifer app and sign in.
2. Tap your profile, then open Settings.
3. Tap Account Settings.
4. Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
5. Type DELETE to confirm, then follow the final prompt.

What gets deleted

• Your profile, username, bio, and avatar
• All catches and sightings
• Photos and audio you uploaded
• Leaderboard scores and badges
• Follows, comments, and reactions
• Bird Alert preferences and notification history
• Your sign-in credentials

Deletion is permanent. Once the grace period ends, your data cannot be recovered.

30-day grace period

After you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time your data is not visible to other users but has not yet been purged. If you change your mind, sign back in to cancel the request. After 30 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

Don't have the app?

If you no longer have access to the app or are unable to sign in, email us at sam@getlifer.app from the address associated with your account and we will delete it manually within 30 days.
